Are you able to travel for weddings?
Yes I love to travel! I mostly capture weddings in Queenstown and Glenorchy where I am based but I have travelled throughout the South Island and North Island of New Zealand and also Australia.
For weddings away from home my additional travel expenses usually include flights, accommodation and maybe rental car.
What can we expect to pay for wedding photography?
Please complete my contact form and I will send you a detailed pricing pdf which will outline my different packages. I offer a number of packages starting from a one-hour couple shoot; an elopement shoot; small wedding coverage; half day wedding coverage and full day wedding coverage.
What is the best time of day for photos?
I love taking photos when the light is softer and more diffuse and this happens in the first few hours after sun rise and the last one to two hours before the sunsets. I will be happy to help you work on your timeline for your day to organise your day around the best light.
Do we receive all the digital files?
I carefully cull all of the images I capture and curate a set of images that thoughtfully tells the story of your day. The time I spend shooting determines the amount of digital files you receive which is all outlined in my pricing pdf. Once the images are processed I will send you a link to your private gallery which you can share with family and friends and everyone can download from this link at both high resolution for printing and low resolution for social media.
We feel really awkward in front of a camera!
It is my job to make you feel comfortable and relaxed. Please don’t worry about posing or doing anything that does not feel like ‘you’. I work from a mostly photojournalistic point of view so I will be capturing you as you are naturally. By working in an unobtrusive manner my clients often comment that they forgot that I was there…and because of this they relax and feel ‘in the moment’. For more information, see ‘How I Work’. (??how to link this to info page?)
Should we organise a shot list for you?
It would be wonderful if you could send me through a list for your family group photos. For the rest of the day I will capture the day as a storyteller and document the day as it happens naturally. This is achieved best with no list which means we can all relax and you can be present in each moment.
How do we lock in our wedding date with you?
I will send you a booking form and contract which you can sign on-line. All I require is a 25% deposit with the balance due within 14 days of your wedding date. I am also happy for you to pay in a few instalments to spread out the payments.
How soon should I book you?
Most of my client’s book about 12 months out from their wedding and some really organise folks are even booking me 2 years in advance! Summer is the busiest season so I would recommend checking availability for these dates to avoid disappointment. If I am booked I am very happy to recommend you to some wonderfully talented photographers here in Queenstown.
Do you shoot with a second shooter?
I find I work better shooting independently. My style is very unobtrusive and relaxed so my hope is to blend in with your guests and capture moments authentically. I feel I capture these moments and tell the story of your wedding day better through one set of eyes. For larger weddings I can organise a second shooter no worries.
How long does it take to receive our photos?
I consider post-production as important as the photography. I hand edit each image with care and consideration in the digital darkroom. I aim to send a link to your private on-line gallery within 8-10 weeks.
Can we meet before or after we book you?
I hope so! I love to meet my couples either in person or Skype before the big day. I feel this is really important in forming a connection before your day!
Are you ok with same sex marriages?
Marriage is a commitment made by two people in love and if you love each other that is all that matters to me. I am so proud of New Zealand’s stance on same-sex marriage.
I would love some help with other wedding vendors...can you help?
I understand that planning a wedding can be quite tricky especially if you are travelling from out of town. We are a close knit bunch here in Queenstown in the wedding industry and we love to support each other so please ask and I will be happy to recommend.
Which is the best way to contact you?
You can email me directly on [email protected], (?link) or you can complete my contact form. If you would like a chat, my mobile is 027 357 1733.
