Fiordland Lodge Wedding // Lake Te Anau New Zealand, Christina + Tim
Californian couple Christina and Tim met through mutual friends about 10 years ago. Then came friendship and dating and finally a marriage proposal.
These guys love to travel and it was during their first overseas trip together that they decided to travel to Galway to find the original jeweller of the claddagh ring…which is a ring that Christina had loved since she was a little girl. The jeweller who created the claddagh ring back in the mid 1700’s little shop was still the original building and is where Christina and Tim decided to use this ring for their wedding. The claddagh ring symbolises Love, Loyalty and Friendship.
Not keen on a large wedding and loving travel and the idea of ‘running away and having an intimate, stress free ceremony in a beautiful place were the reasons Christina and Tim decided to elope. Not only would they get to go on an adventure and experience a new country…they would be creating memories together.
New Zealand had been on their list of destinations for a long time…they loved the idea of being surrounded by dramatic natural beauty and lots of fun ‘outdoorsy’ activities. The morning after their ceremony Christina and Tim headed to Milford Sound kayaking and spent the rest of their honeymoon in New Zealand hiking and enjoying the beautiful outdoors.
Fiordland Lodge was the perfect backdrop to this romantic elopement…the sheer drama of the mountains and majesty of Lake Te Anau…set the scene for this incredible adventure!
“Dawn is wonderful! We weren’t sure what to expect, but were 100% pleased with the experience and finished photographs. Dawn’s shooting style is candid, which we appreciated.
She did a fantastic job of capturing who we are as people and the finished gallery she put together tells such a beautiful story. We are so happy that she photographed our elopement”. Christina and Tim
